I began recording, playing and
teaching locally in 1985.
I now specialize in technique,
within a balanced program,
consisting of scales & exercises,
theory & history, ear- training,
and a very broad range of styles,
iInfluenced by everything I've ever heard;
including Pop, Rock, Country, Funk, Reggae,
Indie, Bluegrass, Metal, R&B, Soul, & Jazz.
"The student can explore freely
and let their musical expressions evolve."
The best part about teaching music
is feeling the joy when
a student's instrument comes to life;
and sharing that joy and pride
of acconplishment with everyone who hears it.
To me, the most important thing
I’d like a student to remember,
Is that they will continue to learn
and get better, even if they are
just thinking about music.
I started piano when I was 7;
I’m 42 now, and still learning.
It inspires me to see students
advance; their excitement is
contagious!

"Letter to New Students"
Hi, and thanks for checking in!
I'd be happy to tell you more about
music lessons.
My schedule is changing around a bit,
and fairly open right now;
what are some times
that would work for you?
I specialize in technique for
'beginner to advanced' skill levels.
I am comfortable with all musical styles,
including electric and acoustic guitar,
4, 5 string electric and fretless bass.
I teach at my newly built studio in
Minnetonka.
It's clean, quiet & smoke-free.
I'm a patient teacher, with excellent communication skills.
It is helpful for the student
to bring a notebook,
and some familiar 'guitar music'
CDs, (or iPod, videos, or cassettes).
I do have extra guitars,
basses & amps here;
but it is helpful to bring your own
if you need any help setting it up.
My Location:
"Home Bass Studio"
4937 Birchwood Lane, Minnetonka,
MN 55343, just southeast of 494 & Hwy #7.
I included my own directions and maps
since Mapquest is not exactly correct.
